You know you need to be creating content for your business and are posting to Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Instagram. But what about YouTube? Your blog? Pinterest? It’s true that you can’t post exactly the same thing on every social media platform – but you also don’t want to burn yourself out spending hours and hours coming up with new content. Never fear, here are three easy ways to repurpose content across multiple platforms so you can work smarter and not harder!
Make Video Content Work Harder
If you’re not including video content in your strategy where have you been for the last 2 years?! More and more platforms are moving towards video content, which means it’s about time you included it in your strategy. For many of us getting in front of the camera is daunting af, so how can you make the process less terrifying?
Instead of recording multiple different short-form videos for different platforms, record one and repurpose it across – TikToks can be used as Reels on Instagram and vice versa. The same goes for long-form content, if you’re recording a YouTube tutorial, why not post a shorter version to IGTV or LinkedIn? My top tip for recording short-form content such as Stories is to record them as one long version which you then cut up and post – from one session you end up with 3 or 4 different ways to post that content. Win-win!
Turn Social Media Posts Into Blogs (and vice versa)
This is a great way to get more mileage out of your content. Simply go through all your top-performing social media posts and turn them into blog posts. For example, if you did a “3 top tips” post, why not expand it into “5 top tips” for your blog? You could include a video, more detailed information and links to resources to give your audience even more value. The best part is that the process goes both ways, so you can also turn blogs into social media posts by taking the key points and creating a carousel or video with them. Not only does it help you present a clear brand message, it’s also a total time-saver!
Post The Same Content To Different Platforms
You don’t need to create entirely new content for every platform. The information you share on Instagram is also going to be relevant to LinkedIn or Facebook – you just need to make some small tweaks to make sure it’s accessible and relevant to that platform. The same goes for your blog and email list – use your email list to direct people to your blog, which expands on points raised in the email. Clear messaging and less time spent creating content? Yes please!
We’re all about working smarter and not harder here at Curlyworm HQ (some might say lazy, but we prefer clever). There really is no need to burn yourself out trying to come up with entirely new content for each platform. It’s all about consistency, and what better way to stay consistent than repurposing content?
