Twelve Easy Instagram Stories Prompts

Twelve Easy Instagram Stories Prompts

10 February 2022

Showing up on Instagram daily can be hard, especially on Stories. There’s only so many shots of your desk you can take, right? Use this list next time you’re trying to think of ideas to make recording stories a breeze. The best part is, you can build on each theme and turn them into longer feed posts, win-win!

1. Introduce yourself and your business
You know who you are and what you do, but does your audience? It’s a great way to help new followers get to know you and keep your existing audience up to date with any changes.

2. Talk about the vision behind what you do
It helps your audience connect with the beating heart of your business, which encourages them to develop an emotional conenction to you. The more people feel they know you on a personal level, the better!

3. Share a surprising fact about yourself
Again, this one is about helping people get to know the person behind the business. Share something silly or serious and encourage your followers to do the same.

4. Bust a myth from your niche
We’ve all got them – something people believe is true about what you do but actually has zero basis in fact. This is your opportunity to set the record straight.

5. Share a helpful tip
We all love free stuff, so why do you think your followers are any different? Sharing a helpful tip helps you show off in a non-icky way and gives your audience to continue following you.

6. Repost a relatable meme
Creating an in-joke with your followers is a great way to create a sense of community. When people feel part of something they’re more likely to part with their money.

7. Share your favourite quote
Maybe it’s something you regularly say within your family or one someone you admire is famous for saying. Either way, sharing a quote close to your heart helps people get to know you (sensing a theme yet?).

8. Client testimonial or transformation
Social proof is the new word of mouth – share a screenshot of a conversation or ask clients to record testimonials. Buying is an emotional decision so seeing other people talk about how great can help people stop sitting on the fence.

9. Share a how-to
Another freebie, another way to show just how much you know your stuff.

10. Share a struggle or challenge and how you overcame it
Are they serious?! Share a challenge? Surely that’ll make people doubt me? Nope. Sharing a challenge or struggle helps humanise you, creating an emotional connection. The more people see themselves in you the better.

11. Use the question sticker to start a Q&A
What better way to get the conversation started with your followers than a Q&A?

12. Share a checklist your followers can easily repost
The final freebie (and tip) on this list – share a checklist your followers can easily screenshot and repost. Maximum exposure for you, a handy checklist for them.

We share daily prompts on our Instagram – head on over and never be stuck for content ideas again.
